Advocacy for Inclusion's "Supporting Self Advocacy" training for support workers starts soon.
Who: Community and support workers working with people with disabilities living in supported accommodation.
What: Workshop and all materials provided free, supported by the ACT Government under the ACT Health Promotion Grants Program
In this course you will learn about:
* Advocacy and self advocacy
* Human rights for people with disabilities
* Balancing duty of care, dignity of risk and supporting self advocacy
* Strategies to assist people practice self advocacy skills
* Healthy eating & exercise overview
* Local resources & information
