2013 ACT Health Promotion Awards - Nominations Now Open


Nominations are currently open for the ACT 2013 Health Promotion Awards,
which are funded and coordinated by Health Promotion, Health
Directorate. Health Promotion is delighted to be collaborating with
Medicare Local ACT for their 2013 Awards to recognise the critical role
of health promotion and prevention in the primary health care setting.
These Awards recognise local outstanding achievements and innovative
contributions to health promotion practice within the ACT.

Nominations are encouraged from all areas of health promotion in the
ACT, including in the primary health care setting. Programs and
initiatives which have not received funding from the ACT Health
Promotion Grants Program are eligible to nominate. Programs which have
been funded by the ACT Health Promotion Grants Program will be assessed
through a separate process.

A total of seven Awards will be presented at the Awards luncheon to be
held on 13 June 2013 at Canberra Institute of Technology (Reid Campus):

1. Outstanding achievement to promote health and wellbeing for children.
2. Outstanding achievement to promote health and wellbeing in the
community.
3. Outstanding achievement to address unhealthy behaviours.
4. Outstanding achievement in partnerships to improve health outcomes.
5. The Health Directorate award for outstanding contribution by an
individual to health promotion practice.
6. The Health Directorate award for outstanding achievement in health
promotion.
7. ACT Medicare Local Award for outstanding health promotion achievement
in a primary health care setting.
