Get into Reading at Woden Library Friday pm and Leisure Program activities

Hi there,

Belconnen Community Service, through the Day-to-Day Living Program, is
holding a Get into Reading program with details as follows:

Aims: encourages social contact and engagement, self-confidence,
imagination, personal reflection, encouragement to share thoughts and
feelings, improvement in literacy, a sense of well-being and inclusiveness!
Everyone is welcome. No need to be "a reader" or even literate.
WHAT IS IT? The basic model is very simple, reading aloud by a facilitator
and then by group members who wish to join in with the reading.
WHO BENEFITS? A wide range of people including those that feel isolated,
people living with depression or anxiety, and people living with dementia
WHAT IS IT NOT? A conventional book club or reading group, a group of
literary buffs, there's no requirement to do any private reading or
participate vocally, it is entirely confidential but it's nice to know first
names, there is no need to attend every session.
1.30-3pm each Friday at Woden Library community room from 8 February.
Further enquires can be directed to John on 6264 0202 or simply register
with BCS reception on 6264 0232.

There is also a great range of activities at both Belconnen and Tuggeranong
through the Leisure Program - if you would like program copies please email
john.vance@bcsact.com.au
