PCYC are taking referrals for young people to enter into outreach groups
programs:
Primary groups programs: (Held in Tuggeranong region, Woden Region, And
Tuggeranong region) ANGRY FACES - a 5 week group program on managing
emotions.
FACELESS - a 5 week Alcohol and Other Drug group program targeting early
users and users whom may be offending whilst under the influence.
FACE IT - a 5 week group program on cyber bullying and general bullying
(for offenders).
HOMEWORK CLUB - an ongoing free homework group that offers free tutoring
and assistance with school work. This runs out of Kambah on Fridays from
4:30pm, and Gungahlin on Wednesdays 4:30pm.
For term 1 we are running Anger management courses. The next lot of
anger management groups programs will start in week 6, and they run from
1pm - 3pm on Mondays, and 12pm - 2pm, and 2pm - 4pm on Fridays.
Currently there are places available in all regions.
The five week programs may be run in schools by special request. Please

Secondary groups programs:
PCYC run various year long, 1 day per week adrenaline based programs or
trade workshop based programs aimed at engaging young people who are
disengaged form regular schooling or experiencing various
vulnerabilities. Outcomes are reengaging young people into appropriate
schooling, strengthening links into community groups, linking young
people into vocational pathways, building skills, building self
confidence and resilience, controlling emotions, and empowering young
people to make healthier life decisions. Participants may be
experiencing multiple risk factors and can be case managed with family
support.
Groups include, Mountain Biking groups, Board riding groups (FULL),
Football group, Go Karting group, Welding Group, Building Group, and
Bush Skills / High ropes group.
Tertiary groups programs:
Participants are typically highly disengaged from society, often
involving periods of detention in Bimberi. Participants attend up to 5
days a week and are highly supported through case management and groups
programs during their transition period upon exiting Bimberi, or
reconnection with society. Participants are often experiencing multiple
and complex high risk factors in their lives.
In Reach:
PCYC Erindale Centre and Melrose Satellite PCYC centre - PCYC run
various fitness, boxing, dance, parkour, and martial arts programs, all
of which are driven by our core values of engage, belong, respect .
Participants utilise these pro social environments to gain new skills
and fitness, resulting in an increase in self confidence and resilience,
and exposure to positive social modelling. There are low costs involved
for non case managed clients.

quickly. Primary groups programs run every 5 weeks in Tuggeranong,
Gungahlin, and Woden areas. Secondary and tertiary programs run in
various locations across all four regions of Canberra.
