The Capability Development and DES Workforce Census will help shape the capability needs of the sector, and only takes about 10 minutes to complete.
The census is only for people currently employed by an organisation holding a Disability Employment Services contract.
Why complete the survey?
Its aim is to profile DES workforce demographics over time, and elicit capability development requirements needed in the sector.
Disability Employment Australia will use this data to help inform future capability development programs, career pathway development, workforce planning, leadership development programs and more.
Relevance for practitioners
This is an opportunity for frontline staff to inform your sector and organisation of your training needs, and the career pathway development you require to ensure success in current and future roles.
Relevance for managers
The census also provides an opportunity for staff at management level to identify the capability requirements for their staff.
The results of the survey will contribute to training needs analysis for both the sector and individual organisations.
Data will build upon 2010 survey data and will bolster the existing evidence base to support future claims to the government in relation to workforce related issues.

Only staff of Disability Employment Services are eligible to complete the survey
The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
The survey will close on 25 October 2013.

Who may enter
Only persons who are current employees working for Employment Services providers who currently hold a Disability Employment Services contract with Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) may enter and be awarded prizes.
Conditions of entry
To be eligible for the prize, survey participants must respond and complete the survey in full by close of business 25 October 2013 (AEDT). No late applications will be accepted once the survey closes after this date. Respondents must complete their contact information at the end of the survey to go into the draw. Only one entry per respondent will be accepted. Disability Employment Australia reserves the right to re-allocate the prize should the initial prize-winner not meet the terms and conditions.
Duration
The promotion of the prize will commence on 30 September 2013 and conclude at close of business on 25 October 2013 (AEDT).
Prize
The prize consists of iPad mini. The prize must be taken as offered and is not exchangeable, transferrable or redeemable for cash.
Selection of winners
All eligible persons who complete a Capability Development and DES Workforce Census 2013 survey by 25 October 2013 (AEDT) and indicate they wish to take part in the draw and provide a contact name, email address and organisation name, will be entered into the draw automatically on submission of the survey. The winner will be selected at random. The draw will be conducted at 11:00am AEDT on 8 November at Disability Employment Australia, Level 4, 140 Bourke Street, Melbourne, Vic, 3000. The promoter's decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on every entry. No correspondence will be entered into.
Notification of winner
The winner will be contacted via email by Disability Employment Australia within two business days of the draw. The winner's name will be published in Disability Employment Australia's 'In the Loop' bulletin soon after the winner has been notified.
Privacy
The details contained in your entry are protected by reasonable security safeguards to prevent loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure and misuse. Disability Employment Australia agrees to not disclose your personal information by entering your details for the survey competition to any third parties. Information provided for competition entry will be used for the sole purpose of identifying and contacting the winner of the prize.
The respondent's personal information will be de-identified from the survey results.
