Community Conversations
TOWARDS A GOOD LIFE
Do you have a lived experience of mental illness?
Learn how to make the most out of the NDIS
This Community Conversation will bring together people with a lived experience of mental illness to share and learn skills that will be helpful in preparing for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in the ACT.
Facilitated by people with a lived experience of mental illness, discussion and activities will focus on imagining a good life, understanding the key principles of the NDIS, adapting to change, making informed choices, goal setting and developing meaningful plans.
By the end of the three - hour session participants will have been supported to:
* identify a personal vision of what a good life means to them
* identify personal goals and strategies to achieve them
* gain an understanding of the key principles of the NDIS
* develop skills that will assist in choosing supports and services under the NDIS that best meet life goals
* make connections with other peers and share knowledge and experience.
