Professor Karola Dillenburger : The Simple Steps to ABA and How to excel in your home-based program
This two-hour interactive workshop has two aims: 1) to discuss why we base interventions on ABA and demystifying some of the most wide-spread misinformation about ABA: 2) to give real life examples on running a successful home-based ABA program.
Professor Dillenburger will examine international best-practice and the evidence base that underpins ABA-based interventions, and draw upon real life examples about how to commence an ABA-based programme. We will hear from parents who have educated themselves to become their own child's therapist, and view examples of the latest international developments in multimedia training for parents.
The session includes practical exercises and multimedia presentations to ensure participants come away with plenty of practical strategies to implement at home.

Panel Session: “In Conversation With…” Anthony Macris & Chloe Maxwell
Back due to popular demand is highly acclaimed author and ABA parent, Anthony Macris. For those of you who missed Anthony at our inaugural ABA conference in April, do not let this opportunity pass you by! When Horse Became Saw was shortlisted for the 2012 Prime Minister's Literary Awards and is a best-selling and heart-rendering account of a family’s journey into autism—and their path through the disorder via ABA therapy—as well as a tale of determination and unconditional love. When Horse Became Saw is an inspiring and hope-filled book that should be read by every autism family, every family contemplating or using ABA, and every extended family member who loves or cares for a child with autism. Come along to listen, learn, experience, and converse with Anthony.
Model and television presenter Chloe Maxwell is author of the recently released Living with Max. Determined to make a difference, Chloe and her famous footballer husband, Mat Rogers, developed the charity 4 ASD kids to help under-privileged families fund their child’s autism therapy. Come and share Chloe’s journey into autism and her account of diagnosis, life with Max, and the true meaning of family.
You will be truly inspired when you hear these amazing authors and parents speak about their experience. Session will be interactive with plenty of question time. Books will also be available for purchase on the day.
