Woden Valley Festival Begins!

Woden Valley Festival starts this Sunday! All events are free and fun!

Sun 4 Nov, 6pm at the Woden Tradies Club The Woden Word War Comedy Debate Ross Solly stands between Comedy ACT and Impro ACT who will argue the big issue of the day.
The topic of the debate: The Woden bus interchange should be heritage listed. Might sound dry at first, but these two teams will put a good spin on it!
Music by Ben Drysdale and a moustache growing workshop by Professor Walky.

Mon 5 Nov, 7pm at Warehouse Circus HQ Maclaurin St Chifley A Night at the Circus Woden Alive joins forces with the Circus for Life Festival to present all manner of bizarre, odd and oh-my-god-how-do-they-do-that circus themed acts! Also, music, poetry, and more.

Tue 6 Nov, 6pm at Canberra College
Next Gen Poetry Slam
ANU 'Voice' Poetry slams are all about empowering and equipping young people, and helping them to find their voice to make their statement, tell their story, and be confident in the unique gifts they bring to the table. The event provides a platform for ACT youth to share their creativity in a safe and non-judgmental forum.

Wed 7 Nov, 7pm at Beyond Q Bookshop, Curtin Mental Health Out Loud A huge night of comedy, music and theatre! Featuring comedians from Show us your Nuts, engaging forum theatre with Imperfectly Sane Productions presenting Dramatic Recovery, and music by Duncan N Sargeant.

Thu 8 Nov, 10.30am at Woden Seniors
Seniors Morning Tea
Local music duo The Two Of Us will entertain with a wide and varied selection of music while everyone enjoys a delicious spread and good conversation.

Thu 8 Nov, 7pm at CIT Woden
Home Made Jam
Home Made Jam Singer/Songwriter Competition is a chance for Canberra songwriters to get together, listen to some great music, and play for some great prizes!

Fri 9 Nov, 7pm at Bite to Eat Cafe, Chifley Shops Forbidden Fruit

As seen in New York's Museum of Modern Art, Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School comes to the Woden Valley.
Burlesque meets life drawing . Artists draw glamorous underground performers in an atmosphere of boozy conviviality. Add some live music, dance, some risqué poems, and an alternative restaurant, and you've got yourself something to do.
Also, Professor Walky's Moustache Growing Workshop for Women!

Canberra's biggest youth music competition and festival. six finalists compete for an awesome swag of prizes and all bands get the chance to play alongside headlined act, House Vs Hurricane.

Young Snappers Photography Competition

Kinder to Yr 12 students from all around Canberra are invited to take part in the Young Snappers Photography competition!
Bring your camera to The Carnival on Saturday 10 November between 9am and 4pm and snap away! We're looking for the photos which best capture the vibe of the event. Choose your favourite picture, tell us why it's your favourite and go into the running to win some fantastic prizes!
The finalists will be displayed at The Hellenic Club on Nov 23 where the winners will be announced!
