Imprisoned without trial. In Australia.

Imagine spending ten years behind bars, without even being convicted. This happened to a West Australian man, by the name of Marlon Noble. Police alleged that the teenager sexually assaulted two girls. He has an intellectual disability and was deemed unfit to stand trial.

In 2012 he was released from jail. But he does not live the life of a free man. Marlon is under strict conditions; permanently watched. He dreams of simple freedoms like going for a walk on his own, when he feels like it. Or visiting his mother's grave.

Marlon was robbed of a decade of his life. The legal system failed him. The law needs to be reformed so that what happened to Marlon never happens to anyone else. This should not be happening in Australia in 2013.

Watch this film, hear Marlon's story and share it with others. It's one of 20 stories to mark the 20th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act.
