ADVOCATE
FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH MENTAL ILLNESS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
25-38 hrs per week
Pro-rata of $53,455 to $57,485 pa (plus generous salary sacrifice
opportunities)
ADACAS is a non-profit, community-based organisation that is dedicated to
providing advocacy for people with disabilities and people who are ageing.
The position will predominately involve providing individual advocacy for
people living with mental illness and people with disabilities living in the
community.
The successful applicant will have:
§ a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to social justice and
human rights for vulnerable people
§ effective negotiation, communication and problem solving skills
§ strong relationship building skills
§ a proven ability to understand and respond to complex situations
§ experience in working with people with disabilities
§ experience or qualifications in mental health work
The position is for a fixed term of 12 months with the possibility of
extension.
