interesting research project that involves talking to children with disabilities in PNG and Vanuatu about their hopes and dreams. The research will be done by Deakin University in Aus in partnership with two disabled people’s organisations in PNG and Vanuatu and Save the Children.
Looks like they are also developing communication tools in the process…
“MURFITT: Essentially, there are three key questions - What is important in your life and why? What are your hopes and dreams and why? And the third, What could be better in your life, and why? Those are the main questions we'll talk about with children, and one other really important of the research, is we're developing different methods to engage with children with disability - some as young as five years old - so that we can actually have a conversation directly with them. So this will hopefully, assist future research in providing alternative methods that are suited for children with disability”
