Belconnen Community Services' Youth & Family Support program will be
running Tuning Into Teens starting February 2014. Tuning into Teens is
a six session parenting program for parents of adolescents aged 8 - 18
years
Would you like to learn how to:
* Improve communication with your teen?
* Develop a better understanding of your teen?
* Develop a positive relationship with your teen?
* Assist your teen to work through conflict and manage
their emotions?
Tuning in to Teens shows you how to help your teen develop emotional
intelligence. Research shows that adolescents with higher emotional
intelligence can display the following characteristics:
* Be more aware, assertive and resilient
* Have greater success with making friends and be able to
manage peer conflict
* Have fewer mental health and substance abuse
difficulties
* Have more stable and satisfying relationships as adults
* Have greater career success - emotional intelligence
may be a better predictor of academic and career success than IQ!
The group will commence Wednesday 12th February and will run for the
following six weeks. It will be held at Kippax Health Centre in room one
from 9.30 - 12.00pm. We are currently looking for interested
