In 2014, Belconnen Community Centre will be hosting the "Ordinary People
do Amazing Things" lecture series, to celebrate the experiences of
ordinary people and to allow members of our community an opportunity to
share in those experiences. Sharing experiences through storytelling is
a tradition that has knit communities together throughout human history,
creating moments that are precious for both audience and storyteller.
If you are an ordinary (or extraordinary) person with an experience
you'd be willing to share; or know someone with stories that fascinate
you, we would love to hear from you. Perhaps you've lived somewhere that
was a world away from Canberra; written a book; run the London
Marathon... the sky is the limit, and we are excited to share your
story. Don't be shy - the friendly Community Development Team at BCS
will be available to assist you in developing your presentation and
overcoming your nerves! The lecture would take place on a weekday
afternoon, and would have a duration of approximately 30-45 minutes,
including questions from the audience.
