NDIS Readiness Toolkit and workshops: Register now

National Disability Services (NDS) is pleased to announce the imminent release of the NDIS Organisational Readiness Toolkit to all ACT community services providing, or proposing to provide, disability services. Workshops on use of the toolkit will be held in February and March, with registration for the first of these closing on 7 February 2014.

NDIS Organisational Readiness Toolkit

Building on work in NSW under the NSW Industry Development Fund and enabled by a National Disability Insurance Agency Sector Development Grant, the Toolkit applies respected and validated business development approaches to help you to prepare your organisation for the NDIS.

The toolkit and associated consultancy support will build on and complement the business development or transition activities your organisation has already undertaken, or has planned. It will assist you to gain a deeper and more detailed analysis of your organisation's strengths and challenges in preparing for the NDIS.

Organisations that complete and return the NDIS Organisational Readiness Toolkit will also be eligible to:

-              Receive a Benchmark Report comparing their readiness to that of like organisations (data provided will be kept securely, not used for any other purpose and not provided to any other party other than in aggregated form)

-              Apply for up to three days of free business coaching and support from an experienced NDS sector support consultant, and

-              Apply for future ACT Sector Development Funding or resources packages targeting enhanced NDIS business and governance development.

Please note: community organisations wanting to secure further Australian/ACT Government transition support funding will need to have completed and submitted their NDIS Readiness Toolkit, or demonstrate planning as identified in priority areas in the Toolkit. Further details about supports for ACT providers will be available in March 2014.

Workshops

Introductory workshops will be held in February and March 2014 for Chief Executive Officers (or those reporting directly to them) of ACT community organisations and ACT-funded bodies that provide, or are proposing to provide, services in the ACT to NDIS eligible people with disabilities, including psychosocial disability.

Mental health/psychosocial disability providers new to the NDIS and organisational readiness are asked to identify themselves so toolkit support can be tailored to your organisational needs.
