Circle of Security

Belconnen Community Service together with West Belconnen Child and Family
Centre will be running Circle Of Security in term 2.

The Circle of Security is a relationship-based early intervention program is
designed to enhance attachment between parents and children. Decades of
research have confirmed that secure children have increased empathy, greater
self-esteem, better relationships with parents and peers, and an increased
capacity to handle emotions effectively.

The Circle of Security program enables parents and caregivers to:

* Understand and recognise their child's emotional needs

* Have increased awareness of their responses to their child

* Expand their moment-to-moment parenting choices where needed

* Prevent emotional and behavioral difficulties

* Develop skills to parent effectively with confidence

Who: Parents and care-givers of children from conception to age 8
Where: Kippax Health Centre, Kippax Place Holt ACT 2615.
When: Each Wednesday for 8 weeks,
9.15am - 12pm,
commencing April 30, 2014.
