Developing the Community Sector Workforce Workshop on Getting your employment practices right

This workshop aims to provide practical guidance for managers about making the most of current award and agreement provisions for employing workers in ways that best meet the needs of the organisation and its clients. The environment is changing in a variety of ways, including likely funding cuts for some programs, new tenders in other programs and individualised funding arrangements.
Topics to be covered in this workshop will include:
• How do recent changes to the award affect casual and part-time employment arrangements?
• Making sense of the overtime and shift provisions of both the award and the ACT MEA
• Tips for managing flexible working hours – managing accrual of TIL, rules vs organisational culture
• Tips for drafting contracts of employment
• How will the review of modern awards affect us?
