THE ACT HEALTH PROMOTION GRANTS PROGRAM
HEALTHY CANBERRA GRANTS AND THE HEALTH PROMOTION INNOVATION FUND ARE NOW
OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS
This funding will support community-based health promotion programs and
projects which improve population health outcomes.
Community-based groups, school communities, not-for-profit organisations and
ACT Government agencies are welcome to apply. These new funding
opportunities reflect changes to the ACT Health Promotion Grants Program
announced in July 2013. The changes are the result of a community
consultation process held earlier this year.
Healthy Canberra Grants will focus on tackling overweight and obesity and
improving children's health including improving eating habits and improving
physical activity outcomes. It favours multi-year programs that can make a
difference to the wider community. Other priorities such as supporting
smoking prevention, reduction and cessation and supporting responsible
consumption of alcohol will be eligible for funding.
The Health Promotion Innovation Fund has been developed for smaller grants
and applications can be submitted at any time with funding released three
times a year. It will provide funding opportunities for innovative health
promotion projects that seek to test new ways of working and new initiatives
against the same priorities as Healthy Canberra Grants.
A general Information Session about both funding opportunities will be
conducted on
WHEN: TUESDAY 3 September 2013 from 4pm to 5.30pm
WHERE: RHEINBERGER CENTRE, Corner of Weston and Loch Streets Yarralumla.
