About this blog

Welcome!

I have an interest in what is happening for people with disabilities in the ACT, after many years working in the disability / community sector, and my son being diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome in 2010, followed by my youngest daughter with PDD-NOS in 2012.

There are heaps of different groups around the place, but no one place to share and find information. I tend to hear about a lot of different things happening around the place and finding it difficult to share it with everyone I'd like to.

I am also joined by Diana who also loves to share any information she comes across.

If you have any information you'd like to share here, or if you'd like to be contributor please email or post me to let me know!

Karen

  1. Hi Karen, Thank you for being a great facilitator by connecting people to wide variety of information / resources. Here I am taking this opportunity to introduce myself and what I love to do. My name is Rajesh Sharma (Jay), I was trained as a psychologist ( not registered here in Australia yet), and a professionally trained behaviour analyst (BCBA) in the USA. I love working with individuals with developmental disabilities ( Autism) and their families to achieve the best treatment outcomes. I moved to Canberra in November 2014. I run a small ABA practice in Canberra to provide quality ABA services, I name it as Canberra Applied Behaviour Analysis-Canberra ABA.

Here is some information about Canberra Applied Behaviour Analysis

Canberra ABA was formed on December 6, 2014 with a sole purpose of providing high quality evidence-based ABA services to the local communities in Canberra, ACT and surrounding regions. We are committed to utilize the established behavioural analytic principles and procedures derived from rigorous applied research. Our emphasis is on providing affordable, high quality, and effective ABA services. In most cases, we provide home-based ABA therapy individualized to meet the clients and family needs. We at Canberra ABA believe that empowering parents, caregivers, support workers and other professionals with relevant behavioural analytic skills is crucial in making significant treatment progress.
