Enhanced Service Offer - Round 2

ACT Government is hosting Community Information Sessions about round two of the Enhanced Service Offer. These are grants for people with disabilities, including those with psychosocial disabilities, who are ACT residents aged under 65 years on 1 July 2013.

• Thursday 12 September 2013, 12.30pm – 2.00 pm

Apollo Rooms, Hellenic Club, Woden (AUSLAN interpreter will be available)

• Saturday 21 September 2013, 10.30pm -12.00pm

Ballarn Room, Nature Conservation House, corner Emu Bank and Benjamin Way, Belconnen

• Wednesday 25 September 2013, 5.30pm – 7.00pm

Towncentre Vikings Club, Cnr Athllon Dr and Rowland Rees Cres, Greenway

• Thursday 26 September 2013, 12.30pm -2.00pm

The Rainbow, Phillip Ave, Watson

What information will be provided at these sessions?

NOTE all sessions will cover the same information you only need to attend one session.

·         General information about how to complete your application and where and how to get further assistance if needed.

Who can apply for an Enhanced Service Offer grant and for what?

ACT residents aged under 65 years on 1 July 2013 with ongoing support needs related to a disability, including psychosocial disability, will be eligible to apply for grants for:

·         Aids, equipment and minor modifications to homes or vehicles which will increase your independence or reduce your need for support from paid or unpaid carers.              Grants up to $10,000.

·         One off items and supports which may generally increase your Quality of Life.          Grants up to $5,000.

·         Grants for supports which may enable you to take part in social, recreational, educational or vocational activity, learn new skills, increase your independence, and build social and personal networks. The outcomes of this support may also be that your family members can have increased time not engaged in a caring role and have confidence in the quality of the support provided so they can have a genuine break, or other informal networks are supported. Grants up to $12,000

 

When will grants open and where do I get the application form?

The second round of the Enhanced Service Offer will open 9.00am Monday 30 September 2013 until 5.00pm Friday 8 November 2013.

The online application form for Enhanced Service Offer grants will be available from the Community Service Directorate website and the Mental Health Community Coalition website.
