Ombudsman statement re boarding houses

NSW Ombudsman Bruce Barbour says boarders are dying with no dignity

Lashing out ... NSW Ombudsman Bruce Barbour.
HE died in a boarding house in his own filth, the walls stained with blood and his bed covered with dust and cobwebs - just months after hospital staff flagged concerns about his hygiene and nutrition.
The disabled man's tragic tale was laid bare as NSW Ombudsman Bruce Barbour yesterday revealed some of the state's most vulnerable people had been exposed to physical and sexual assault, intimidation, bullying and harassment by staff and other residents in a damning report on boarding houses.
