Summary of the topic:
Have you ever been frustrated or confused in your dealings with the
health system in the ACT or wish that something could be done about its
shortcomings? Don't just spend your time complaining to your friends and
family, find out how to bring issues to the attention of those who can
do something about it. Learn how to become a Consumer Representative
participating in committees that make health policy, planning and
service decisions.
The Speaker of the Evening:
Darlene Cox is the Executive Director of Health Care Consumers
Association of the ACT (HCCA). HCCA is the peak health consumer advocacy
body in the ACT, supporting and developing health consumer perspectives
and policy in the Territory for over 30 years. HCCA is an organisation
through which everyone can participate in policy, planning and service
decisions that affect their health. HCCA works to improve the quality
and availability of health services, supports consumers to identify
shared priorities about health and represents these views to the ACT
Government.
