Vacancies for participants at Hands On Studio
Established in 1996 in response to the needs of people with disabilities
to access arts education, Hands On Studio is a non-profit organisation
that has an extensive background in providing art education for people
with physical and/or intellectual disabilities through its studio and
outreach programs.
The Studio is currently located in M16 Studio and gallery complex,
providing opportunities for students to work in a mainstream arts
environment
The studio provides seven classes a week which includes drawing
painting, printmaking, collage, craft and pottery. The students
regularly contribute to ACT community cultural life with professional,
high quality exhibitions and displays of artwork. These have occurred at
art galleries and public venues across the region.

The success of the Studio's programs and projects are based on the
ability of its staff to design and deliver activities that take into
consideration the complex needs and the varying abilities of the target
group. It's successful art outcomes result from both the creative
abilities of members of the ACT community with disabilities and from
engaging professional artists as tutors who encourage participants to
reach their full creative potential and meet learning objectives.
