GUARDIANSHIP IN THE AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
Advocacy for Inclusion is currently undertaking research into what Guardianship in the ACT looks like. In preparation for the implementation of a National Disability Insurance Scheme, we would like to get a picture of how many orders exist in the ACT and what kind of orders they are.
We are doing this research because no data currently exists relating to the number of private guardianship orders in the ACT. Nor is there a lot of information about how the people involved found the process or the levels of support available to them.
The results of these surveys will help Advocacy for Inclusion recommend better services and processes for people and their supporters in the lead up to the NDIS, and will also help government and service providers have a better understanding of the current situation.
Please assist us by distributing these surveys throughout your networks – to people who have Guardians and for those who are Guardians. The surveys can be completed on hard copy and sent to us via fax, post or by hand, or can be completed online by following the link on our website www.advocacyforinclusion.org . Responses will be kept confidential and there are no questions that could identify the person completing the survey. The survey will close in late April.
If anyone would like assistance in completing their survey, they are welcome to give us a call in the office.
Many thanks for your assistance
