CatholicCare Better Access is for any members of the wider community,
who are seeking support or assistance with mental health issues such as
depression, anxiety, grief & loss, alcohol and other drug misuse and
whose financial circumstances would otherwise prevent them from
accessing psychological counselling services.
To Access this service you (or your client) will need to:
1. See your GP and ask for a Mental Health Treatment Plan and
Referral
2. Your GP will write and submit a Mental Health Treatment Plan
for you to be eligible for bulk billing with Medicare
3. Your GP will write a referral to the CatholicCare Better Access
program
4. Ring CatholicCare on 6163 7600 and speak with the Better Access
Program Manager book an appointment to see a counsellor
You are entitled to 6 sessions, and then will need to re-visit your GP
to access a further 4 sessions with CatholicCare Better Access.
