SoSAFE! TOOLS TO PROMOTE SOCIAL SAFETY - A COURSE FOR FAMILY CARERS
SoSAFE! is a set of visual and conceptual tools designed to promote
social safety to clients with an Intellectual Disability (moderate to
severe range) and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
It uses a simplified and rule-governed model of social reality that
teaches the type and degree of verbal and physical intimacy appropriate
with different categories of people, and strategies for moving into
intimate relationships in a safe and measured way.
Sexual Health and Family Planning ACT, (SHFPACT), in partnership with
Skills for Carers Program, is facilitating this course for non-paid
primary carers at no cost.
Dates: 3 sessions (Tuesdays) - 14, 21, 28 August
Time: 6.30 - 9pm
Venue: CIT Southside campus, Woden
Note: Sandwiches, tea and coffee will be provided.
Cost: Free through an ACE grant, an ACT Government initiative
