Disability Advisory Council Needs Your Help.
Support for Housing Choice Project
The Disability Advisory Council needs your help! We are currently conducting research to identify the support gaps that people with disabilities and their families may face when trying to achieve their accommodation goals. Do you currently live where you want to live? Are you living with the people you want to live with? Do you have all the paid support you need to ensure you can live safely in the home of your choice? If you answer either yes or no to any of these questions we would like your help.
Some of the ways you might like to participate and help us are:
Completing one of our surveys (accessible, electronic versions available, easy English version, or we can send you one via snail mail)
Passing on the surveys to other friends with a disability or their families
Participating in the World Cafe discussion (being held on the morning of Wednesday, 25 July, in Woden and cab charge vouchers can be provided)
Suggesting people who might have something to say at the World Cafe discussion so that we can send them an invitation.

It would be wonderful if you could be involved in this project. This research is important as we move towards the National Disability Insurance Scheme, as we need to highlight to government the shortfalls in the current system.
