“Improving the quality of life for clients with challenging behaviours”

Professional Development Officer with the Intensive Treatment and Support Service (ITAS)

David has been involved with the disability sector for over 15 years. He works with ITAS to support adults with intellectual disability, mental illness and a range of challenging behaviours.

This interactive workshop will introduce you to the principles of positive behaviour support an approach which aims to help individuals to manage their challenging behaviour by improving their quality of life. You will learn how to assess why people behave the way they do, how to develop a behaviour support plan and how to take better care of yourself.

The program is relevant to staff with limited experience and also those with lots of hands on experience who would like to learn more about the tools and methods that are available.
