I'm a cartoonist and illustrator with a community worker background and who
specialises in facilitating cartooning workshops around the Canberra region.
My workshops are aimed for young people through to adults, focusing on
mental health recovery, positive life skill and lifestyle choices,
disability and general cartooning such as caricaturing and how to create a
cartoon character. I also tailor workshops for just about any other theme
in between!
I presently facilitate workshops at The Canberra Hospital Adult Mental
Health Unit and have run workshops at 2N ward, The Cottage, PHAMS
workshops, ACT Library programs and various other community organisations
within the ACT and NSW.
What I offer is a unique program, as I also specialise in "speed drawing" -
this is drawing as people talk. This is effective particularly in
recovery based sessions where each person is drawn on a whiteboard or paper
and in a positive light within a relevant theme. This medium I find is a
very effective form of communication to vulnerable groups where humour and
laughter is a positive trigger for information sharing. All workshops are
facilitated with equal respect, are relevant and meaningful, and are a lot
of fun!
It would be wonderful to have the opportunity to catch up with any person
or organisation to share some ideas and discuss possible relevant themes
and issues that I might be able to involve myself in through education and
recovery based workshops.
I can be contacted on funnyworksoz@gmail.com or you are welcome to give me
a call on 0408 413 503 any time.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Kind Regards,
Andrew Hore
