First Aid training for children

A day attending a Red Cross First Aid course could change the course of a
life.

On January 16th from 9 - 4 a small group of 8 to 11year olds will be
learning how to respond in an emergency.

In this elementary First Aid course they will learn:

What is First Aid?
Unconsciousness and the collapsed casualty Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and
AED Bleeding and shock Electric shock Poisons Burns and scalds Objects in
the eye, ear or nose



11 - 15 year olds can attend the Preliminary First Aid course on Jan 17th.
They will learn:

First Aid principles and priorities
Recognition of injury or illness
Recognition and management of the unconscious person Principles of
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Recognition and management of the victim
of choking, asthma and epilepsy Shock, control of bleeding, care of wounds,
pressure bandage Burns and scalds Soft tissue injuries and fractures

Both courses are being held at Red Cross House, 3 Dann Close Garran and run
from 9 - 4.
