We had one of these done last week and I highly recommend it if you have a child who is having difficulties at school with their learning. with our daughter we knew that she was gifted but we weren't seeing that reflected in her school results, or her general behaviours and abilities. we have found her behaviour difficult to manage and had been through 2 ASD assessments without a definite answer.
We will get the full report next week but so far we have been given 2 areas to start working on, including the likelihood she has ADHD (which we had suspected for the past year or 2). Helen, the lady who did the assessment, was lovely with my daughter (and me!) and travels to Canberra several times a year. she also comes down and runs social skills classes for 2e kids.

So, given that many kids with ASD also have ADHD i guess you will start to see more ADHD links and information here on the blog :) possibly more 2e stuff too (twice exceptional ie: gifted with something else) as my son's psychologist has just undertaken a WIAT with him as he believes he is more gifted in some areas than we'd previously thought (though struggling in other areas).
