AAACT Bi-Monthly Members Meeting to be held Wednesday 1st May 2013 from 7:30 - 9:30 in the Bendigo Room of Chifley Hub
Guest speakers - Melinda Mitchell, Service Manager and Mark De Jong, Operations Manager, of House with No Steps will present the following:
- A very brief history of HWNS
- Services within the ACT
- Work Experience & Social Placement
Program (WESP)
- ACT Transition Service & the school
leaver’s process
- ISP(Individual Support Package)/ Case
Management
- Accommodation services
- Planning- PATH & other Person Centred
Planning tools.
- DISH@Oatley (Disability Information
Support Hub) which is where the HWNS Program is located.
Melinda will also bring information on the School Leaver Information Sessions and the upcoming Careers/ Post School Options Expo @ Epic. As well as this information she will bring out the 2012 Futures Guide, to give families an idea of what is available for a young person leaveing school. Melinda will bring info on the Enhanced Service Offer which is the upcoming funding round available to all people with a Disability in the ACT and will be able to be applied for in June/ July this year.
This is a great opportunity to gain an understanding of some of the services available in the ACT, especially for those who have children in the final stages of school life.
