CREATE - SPEAK UP -advocacy training for young people

The CREATE Foundation is running Speak Up Program Level One (formerly
known as Young Consultants Training) on this Saturday.
Speak Up (SUP) is a CREATE empowerment, strength based program that is
available to all young people with a statutory care experienced aged 14
- 25 years old. Once trained, young people are enabled to represent
CREATE to assist changing the care system, through advocacy to improve
policies, practices and services and increase community awareness about
children and young people with a care experience. There are also
exciting opportunities for young people to be involved with the CREATE
National Conference that is being held in Canberra in November. Lunch
and snacks will also be provided.
Level One is the entry level for Speak Up. This level is focussed on
young people building confidence and awareness of the Young Consultant
role. The emphasis on Level One is self, and what benefits Young People
receive from attending the training for themselves to empower their own
lives.
There are 3 levels to the training, and Saturday is Level One. For
those that complete Level One, we are running Level Two on the 29th
June.
