NATIONAL PLAN FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT FORUM
Minister for School Education, Peter Garrett invites you and the members of your organisation to participate in a forum to discuss the National Plan for School Improvement. The forum will take place on Wednesday 15 May 2013 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm (AEST) in the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Theatre, 50 Marcus Clarke St, Canberra.
The Australian Government has made an offer to states and territories to make the National Plan for School Improvement a reality. It would see schools across the country benefit from an extra $14.5 billion in public investment over the next six years.
At the Council of Australian Governments meeting on 19 April 2013, all governments affirmed their commitment to ongoing negotiations on our proposed reforms. We are asking all states and territories to sign up to the plan by 30 June 2013 to give schools the certainty they need to plan for next year.
Following the 2013-14 Budget, this event offers participants a unique opportunity to discuss the next steps for the Australian Government’s National Plan for School Improvement with Minister Garrett.

Anyone who is not able to attend in person can participate online. To participate online simply visit the event webpage on www.betterschools.gov.au. Prior to the event, you can submit your questions via email to NPSIcomms@deewr.gov.au. If time permits, questions will also be taken from the floor.
