Carers ACT is the leading organisation that is dedicated to improving the
quality of life for Carers in the ACT. We have represented the interests of
over 43,000 Carers and their families since 1992.
Our mission is to lead change and action for and with Carers ensuring that
"caring is a shared community responsibility". Our programs and services
provide information, education, training, counselling, respite, advocacy and
other assistance across a range of Carers issues.
As part of Carers ACT programs and services to support carers within the
community we operate two respite care centres. 'The Cottage' located at
Deakin offers low care day and overnight for people with dementia. Fraser
House located in Fraser offers low care day and overnight for people with
disability. This care is provided within a home like environment.

Ideally you will hold a qualification in aged care or disability; you will
be calm, confident and compassionate with a genuine interest in helping

evenings and overnight. All applicants must have a current senior first aid
certificate and drivers licence.
