Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to provide you with information about the UC Nutrition and Dietetics Clinic available through the University of Canberra’s Bruce campus.
The clinic offers both a student-led Dietetic service and private practitioner consults. The student-led service provides the opportunity for students in their final year of the Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics program to observe and participate in the nutritional management of a variety of clients. Students are supervised by an experienced Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) at all times to ensure safe and effective practice. All consults in this service are provided at a minimum cost of $30, or $20 for concession. This is a great cost effective service with limited waiting times that integrates the provision of nutrition services and student learning. We also have a qualified dietitian who works in the clinic as a private practitioner (initial consultations $90, reviews $45 (Medicare rebate able)).
The UC Nutrition and Dietetics Clinic can assist all people who wish to achieve optimum health status through healthy eating, providing strategies and motivation to address health concerns. The clinic specialises in providing individual dietary assessment, advice, and education resources for clients with a variety of nutritional issues including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, weight management, food intolerances, and general healthy eating advice. We can conduct both elimination diets and low FODMAP diets to assist in managing client symptoms.
We have also recently purchased a research quality body composition analyser which provides a detailed assessment of: muscle, fat, and water composition; visceral fat measure; body fat percentage; bone mineral density; and oedema levels. This is a highly effective way of monitoring your clients’ progress with dietary and lifestyle changes. Appointments are $20 for an initial and $15 for a serial measure.
