Registrations are now open for the 2013 Conference

This August the Family Planning NSW conference is once again bringing you a packed program of experts and leaders in reproductive and sexual health.

Register now for two days of engaging presentations and workshops covering a wide variety of topics.

Keynote speaker
2012 NSW Scientist of the Year  Professor John Aitken will be a highlight with Sex, science and society: tales of opportunity and neglect.

Other high-profile speakers include:

  • Professor Rod Baber - The place of HRT in the 21st Century
  • Dr Lesley Yee - Exploring misconceptions around female sexuality
  • Dr Mary Stewart - Immediate versus delayed contraceptive initiation
  • Rachel Wooton - Stigma and moral judgements: how sex workers and people with disability are breaking down the barriers to support each other's rights
  • Dr Kim Matthews - Adolescent gynaecology issues for patients with developmental delay

Two hot issues will be explored through lively debate by expert panelists:

  • Access to abortion (Friday)
  • Female genital modification (Saturday).

Each afternoon offers five concurrent sessions so you can tailor your learning to your interests. Workshop topics include:

  • Hot issues in women's health screening: a public health perspective 
  • Communication skills: working with interpreters and refugee patients
  • Dolly Doctor: conundrums in adolescent sexual health
  • Current issues in men's health

Each day is accredited for 12 Category 2 RACGP points and the GP Obstetric Grant under the RACGP QI&CPD program. Total for both days: 24 Category 2 RACGP points.

Royal College Of Nursing
