Career Information Sessions for Women

CAREER SESSIONS FOR WOMEN

Have you been out of the workforce for an extended period of time?
(This might be due to raising children, caring for others or personal
barriers) Are you thinking about getting back into paid work?
The Women's Return to Work Grants Program is running a series of
4 Get Back to Work Career Sessions to help you prepare to enter the
workforce.
The sessions include;
Session 1:Getting Yourself Ready for the Workforce
* Building Self-Confidence and Managing Change - dealing with 'out of
work' gap
* Attitudes, Values and Experiences
* Skills and Aptitudes
* Preferences and Reality
* Explore my work options - preferred work occupations and industries
DATE: 5 August 2013 10am-1pm
Session 2:Getting the Skills for the Job
* Current readiness for entering the workforce
* Analyse and prioritise physical, mental and interpersonal skills
* What's important in choosing a job
* Training and Work Opportunities & review job ads from a variety of
sources

DATE: 12 August 2013 10am-1pm
Session 3:Getting the Job
* Identify key achievements
* Writing your career objective
* Looking at different types of resumes
* Identifying key considerations in writing selection criteria
DATE: 19 August 2013 10am-1pm

Session 4:Preparing for Interview and Interview Skills
* Understanding the role of the contact officer
* Variety and structure of interviews
* Anticipating questions
* Practise interview techniques
DATE: 2 September 2013 10am-1pm


The sessions are run as a four week program and women are strongly
encouraged to attend all four. This program is FREE to all women.
The cost of childcare is covered by the program for the hours of
attendance.
You do not need to have received the Return to Work grant to attend the
career sessions. Sessions are held at 13 London Cct in the City
