DisabilityCare is being launched in the ACT from July 2014 but ESO grant funding is available now for purchasing some of the services or supports you need.

DUO Services (amalgamated from Tandem Respite Inc and Home Help Service ACT) is the key to independent living in and around Canberra, providing personal, home and community support services that help people continue to live their lives to the full.

DUO can assist people with disability with the following service offerings:

ü Coordination of supports for increased independence and community access.

ü Life/transition planning.

ü Transition from school to work or further education.

ü Participation in educational activities.

ü Support educational, work and recreational activities.

ü Caring for a person with disability whilst families and friends have a break from their caring responsibilities.

ü Shared living arrangements.

ü Overnight assistance in an individual or group residence.

ü Vacation support.

ü Self-care and personal domestic activities.

ü Specialised child care at home.

ü Daily living skills and planning.

ü Access to community, social and recreational activities.

ü Development of social and life skills for community, social and recreational participation.

ü Take part in community, social and recreational groups.

ü Design and construction of home and vehicle modifications.

ü Home and/or garden maintenance.

ü House cleaning and other household activities including major cleans.

ü Linen service.
