IDPwD and Twenty One

Hi everyone

We wanted to let you know about ways you can celebrate the International
Day of People with Disability, which is in its 21st year in 2013.

Registering for IDPwD 2013

Registrations opened today for events to be held on the United Nations
sanctioned International Day, which is marked annually on 3 December to
celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with disability.
Communities, schools, organisations and businesses around the country
are being invited to stage their own local events.

By registering your celebration on the Event Registration
<http://www.idpwd.com.au/3-december/event-registration/> page, you will
receive some nifty free merchandise to help promote your celebration if
you register before 20 October 2013. You have the choice of listing your
event as private or public and only public events will appear on the
Event calendar <http://www.idpwd.com.au/3-december/calendar/> page. If
you need any ideas or tips for your celebration, be sure to check out
the Planning your event
<http://www.idpwd.com.au/3-december/planning-your-event/> page to help
get you started!

Twenty One

It's an important milestone. It's a reason to both reflect and project.
And even more importantly, it's a reason to celebrate! This year marks
the 21st anniversary of International Day of People with Disability
(IDPwD) and to help mark this milestone we want to share the stories of
people who are celebrating their 21st birthdays this year.

The International Day of People with Disability team is seeking people
with disabilities from across all parts of Australia who turn 21 in 2013
to be part of a national project to showcase achievements and forecast
future hopes and dreams.

We want individuals from around Australia to be part of the national
story.

If you are, or know someone with a disability who has achieved success
in life, study or work which has allowed them to pursue dreams and
goals, why not be part of a national story to mark the 21st celebrations
of International Day of People with Disability.

We hope to identify 21 people from across Australia. We hope to tell 21
stories and we know we have 21 reasons to celebrate this milestone
together.

Please check out the Twenty One page <http://www.idpwd.com.au/21/> on
the website, email idpwd@fahcsia.gov.au or contact or phone 1800 672
682.
