THE ACT HEALTH PROMOTION GRANTS PROGRAM would like to advise potential
applicants that HEALTHY CANBERRA GRANTS and the HEALTH PROMOTION INNOVATION
FUND will open on 24 AUGUST 2013.
This funding is to enable activities which will help minimise the risk of
developing chronic disease in the ACT population.
Healthy Canberra Grants and the Health Promotion Innovation Fund will soon
open for applications. Community-based groups, school communities,
not-for-profit organisations and ACT Government agencies are welcome to
apply. These new funding opportunities reflect changes to the ACT Health
Promotion Grants Program announced in July 2013. The changes are the result
of a community consultation process earlier this year.
Healthy Canberra Grants will focus on tackling obesity and improving
children's health, including improving eating habits through school canteens
and food education. It favours multi-year projects that can make a
difference to the wider community. Other priorities such as smoking
prevention reduction and cessation, and reduction in harmful and hazardous
consumption of alcohol will be eligible for funding.
The Health Promotion Innovation Fund has been developed for smaller grants,
with funding opportunities open several times each year. It will provide
funding opportunities for innovative projects that seek to test new ways of
working and new initiatives against the same priorities as Healthy Canberra
Grants.
A general information session about both funding opportunities will also be
conducted shortly and we will confirm details as soon as they are available.
