National ID Mental Health Guide for Providers
Request from Dr Julian Troller for cases, scenarios and inspirational quotes from consumers and carers Hi there, I am contacting people with an intellectual disability and their carers because I would really like some help. My name is Dr Julian Trollor, and I work at a University and in a hospital. I help people with intellectual disability and mental health problems. I am writing a Guide to help people who work in mental health services do a better job when they support people with intellectual disability and mental health problems. We want to put some words or short stories from people with intellectual disability or their carers in the Guide. This work is important because many people with an intellectual disability also have mental health problems. Some work has been done to improve services and supports for people, but there is still much more to do. With your help, the 'Guide' will help mental health services and staff understand what it is like for a person with intellectual disability when they have a mental health problem. If you would like to help, there is more information available. There is information in standard English, and information in easy English. Email here for more information. If you want, you can read it and get back to us by Monday 16th September. Thank you, Julian Trollor.
