Respite Coordinator
Carers ACT is the recognised, expert voice with, and for carers while being
the major provider of carer services and supports in the ACT and Southern
Highlands Region. Our dedicated and skilled staff play an essential role in

We are currently seeking a Respite Coordinator with demonstrated experience
working with clients for our Respite Service. This is a vital role that
provides essential services to family carers in the ACT.
As the Respite Coordinator you will be undertaking intake and assessment of
individual carer needs for respite care, implement appropriate short term
and emergency respite services, liaise and negotiate with service providers
to coordinate cost effective respite care services to meet carer needs and
maintain accurate client and service provider records on the database.
Essential Qualities
As a Respite Coordinator at Carers ACT you will be empathetic with a
flexible approach to managing the sensitivities of carers issues. You will
have excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to
detail. You will have relevant qualifications in health, aged care or
disability fields together with high level verbal and written communication
with demonstrated knowledge of the community sector. Well-developed IT
skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite along with a current
driver's license and Working with Vulnerable People Registration (WWVP), you
will need to apply for registration if you do not have this.
