Coordinator - Young Carers
Carers ACT is the recognised, expert voice with, and for carers while
being the major provider of carer services and supports in the ACT and
Southern Highlands Region. Our dedicated and skilled staff play an

We are currently seeking a Coordinator - Young Carers with demonstrated
experience working with young carers and their families for our Respite
Service. This is a vital role that provides essential services to young
carers in the ACT.
As Coordinator - Young Carers you will be responsible for undertaking
comprehensive young carer assessments and delivering a flexible range of
respite options tailored to the needs of young carers, the carer
recipient and their families. You will implement appropriate short term
and emergency respite services, as well as providing appropriate
referrals to other agencies. This position will also include the
maintenance of accurate client and service provider records.
Essential Qualities
As Coordinator - Young Carers at Carers ACT you will be empathetic with
a flexible approach to managing the sensitivities of young carer issues.
You will have highly developed organisational, communication and
interpersonal skills. You will have relevant qualifications in youth,
health, or disability fields together with a demonstrated understanding
of caring issues within a community environment to coordinate the
quality service delivery. High level IT skills including the use of
Microsoft Office suite and calendar management software, along with a
current driver's license and Working with Vulnerable People Registration
(WWVP), you will need to undergo registration if you do not have this.
