art therapy workshops through cartooning

G'day all,

*'Funnyworks Oz'* is a community focused business that supports those
marginalised in the ACT through cartooning art therapy workshops.
Programs are provided throughout the ACT in hospitals, schools,
community organisations, mental health support services as well as the
heritage sector and other specific services.

Programs are provided by a cartoonist with and extensive community
worker background and are for those who are young through to the young
at heart!

Themes are varied, including:


- General cartooning skills and techniques (create your own cartoon
character!)
- Strengths to goals focused workshops
- Life skill themes
- Health and activity based themes
- Story telling themes for young and seniors
- Caricaturing workshops
- Body and Behaviours workshops
- Various others


What makes this service unique is the use of the* "Quick Draw" Program*
- this is speed drawing (drawing as people talk/describe a situation)
which has a profound impact upon a group.

What also makes programs effective is the use of humour as a platform in
each session. This with strong visuals enables individuals to remember
information in an enjoyable manner - art therapy with a laugh!
