Connect and Participate Expo Volunteers Needed

The Connect and Participate Expo (Information below) - being held at
Kingston Markets 0n Saturday 29th March - needs volunteers with goodwill
and good humour who are keen to be a part of a real grass-roots
community event!

We are seeking volunteers in the following areas:
Setting up
Packing Up
Parking Wardens
Assisting Stage Manager
Assisting in the food court
Roaming Evaluation Interviewers
Face Painters (Current Working with Vulnerable People Card required)
Assisting with children's activities - eg jumping castle, fairy floss,
circus acts (Current Working with Vulnerable People Card required)
Information Desk Afternoon Tea providers to the Stall Holders

Where and when is it going to be held?

When: Saturday 29 March 2014, 11am - 4pm.

Where: Old Bus Depot Markets, 21 Wentworth Avenue, Kingston.


CAP Expo Information

The CAP EXPO is a community event that will showcase the range of
opportunities available for Canberrans of all abilities and ages to join
groups and build social connections around common interests. A huge
range of possibilities for connection and participation in the community
will be at one location on one day; from sport and recreation groups, to
art, craft, music, leisure, cultural, performing arts, hobby, social and
'special interest' groups.

The Expo will open doors to new opportunities for all.

People attending can participate in 'Come and Try' activities, or simply
talk with personnel from a wide variety of groups, to determine whether
the activities on display are ones they might be interested in. This
will allow attendees to make informed decisions about groups they'd like
to get involved with, and provide them with immediate contacts and
details about the groups' requirements, and benefits of joining up.



This is the first Expo of this kind to be held in Canberra, so come
along a be part of the experience! The range of stall-holders and
performers is huge! From quilters to scale modellers; aikido to parkour;
motorbike riders to soccer clubs; choirs to storytellers; ancient arts
Fellowship to scouts groups. There will be something for everyone -
regardless of age or ability!!

This event is being brought to the Canberra Community by Belconnen
Community Service, Woden Community Service, Northside Communty Service,
ACTTAB, Disability ACT and ACT NDIS Taskforce.
