Event information
Women with Disabilities ACT (WWDACT) warmly invites you to join in an
evening of entertainment and learning.
In celebration of National Youth Week (NYW) 2014, the evening's
proceedings will commence with a welcome by WWDACT Convenor, Sue
Salthouse, an official opening by Minister for Young People, Women and
Disabilities, Joy Burch and the much anticipated film premier of Strong
Women: Circus Sisters.
Strong Women: Circus Sisters is a documentary film which tracks the
rehearsal and public performance of WWDACT's Strong Women, Circus
Sisters Troupe on I-Day, the 3rd of December 2013. Created by the
talented Marcus Freeman, this project celebrates and supports the
contributions of women, particularly young women, with disabilities to
the Canberra community.
Following the premier, WWDACT will present a showcase of our current and
forthcoming initiatives that aim to improve the status and lives of
women with disabilities in the ACT and surrounding region.
This event and the work of WWDACT would not be possible without the
generous support of Minister Joy Burch, ACT Community Services
Directorate, Shaw Possibilities and Hands Across Canberra.
This is an open invitation and we encourage you to share this with your
networks.
