When: 6 - 9pm Tuesday 6 May 2014

Who: People living with disability, their families and carers.
* What are safeguards and how can they improve life chances?
* Why are safeguards important and what is it that is being
safeguarded?
* What is the difference between safety and safeguards?
* What is the difference between risk management and safeguards?
* How do I think about safeguards in my life or the life of the
person I care about?
Join us for a conversation about these questions and more. In the lead up to
the introduction of the NDIS and the potential for change, it's a good time
to think about the relationship between care and safeguarding.

Fiona May is the CEO of ADACAS which provides independent, individual
advocacy to people with disability in Canberra. She will be joining the
Community Conversations team to lead this conversation.
