Finance Officer

Carers ACT is the recognised, expert voice with, and for carers while being the major provider of carer services and supports in the ACT and Southern Highlands Region. Our dedicated and skilled staff plays an essential role in developing the organisation's goals and priorities to meet our mission.

As a Finance Officer you will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service and accurate and consistent delivery of transactional accounting services. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Finance officer position is a part-time position for 30 hours per week.

To be successful in this position, you will have excellent time management skills, a high attention to detail and accuracy.

This role is located primarily at Holt with travel and time required at other operational outlets.

This position is responsible for:

1. Maintain a high level of customer service in accordance with CACT Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and provide consistent, timely and accurate delivery of transactional accounting services.

2. Provide support to the Financial Accountant to optimise performance including assisting in monitoring workloads to ensure timely completion of transactional account activities.

3. Maintain the records of accounts by filing all source documents, and prepare reports and other documentation for management when requested.

4. Applies CACT procedures, guide to good practice and evidence based best practice.



Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Certificate level qualifications relevant to the position and/or minimum 3 years' experience in Accounts Payable, Receivable, Payroll and data entry.

2. Excellent time management skills

3. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

4. Excellent interpersonal skills

5. Knowledge of maintaining general ledger;

6. Ability to maintain confidentiality;

7. Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration

8. Current driver's license

Salary: $40,784 - $49,913 pro rata + super + benefits
