Events Coordinator

Carers ACT have been supporting families with caring responsibilities in the ACT since 1992. With the introduction of the NDIS, we have responded to Carers' request for us to build on our expertise in delivering quality, innovative and person centered services to people with a disability. Thanks to carers and the people they care for, we have co-designed an exciting suite of services that people want and from a provider they trust.

The Events Coordinator position is pivotal in organising events, support groups and social functions for the Family Carers and Participants. This would enable them to meet other carers and participants in similar situations thereby alleviating social isolation.

This role is located primarily at Holt with travel and time required at other operational outlets. (Some interstate travel may be required)

This position is responsible for:

1. Intake and assessment of carers and participants eligibility for Carers ACT and BODS program objectives and inclusion in support groups, social functions and events.
2. Undertake a wide range of administrative duties and contract outputs including (but not limited to) word processing, data collection and entry, maintain accurate carer, participants and service provider records.
3. Plan, organise and coordinate a series of innovative events, support groups, social functions and Carers ACT promotional activities, which are attractive and create a positive profile of Carers ACT and BODS.
4. Liaise with family carers, internal stakeholders such as other CACT programs requiring events, external stakeholders such as service organisations and corporate sponsors to fulfil contractual requirements and maintain professional working relationships.
5. Work individually and collaboratively as part of a team to maintain high quality professional services for Carers and participants.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Demonstrated experience in the community/and or corporate sector in planning, promoting and delivering innovative events and functions.

2. Reliable and flexible with 'can do' attitude to positively influence others and undertake program delivery.

3. Highly developed communication skills, including negotiation, liaison, presentation, research and interpersonal skills.

4. Enthusiasm with a genuine desire to make a positive contribution to improving carers and participants lives, with an understanding of the issues that are of concern to carers and the people they care for.

5. Highly organised with the ability to forward plan and organise multiple events.

6. Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration

7. Current Driver's License.

8. Senior First Aid Certificate

Salary: $46,455 - $54,676 pro rata + super + benefits
