AAACT - Operations Manager Position

Operations Manager

Autism Asperger ACT (AAACT) is the peak body responsible for providing services for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the ACT. The Association is a not-for-profit incorporated organisation with a small dedicated team that delivers services to individuals, families and carers impacted by ASD. The Association is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of people with ASD and their capacity to fully engage with the broader community. AAACT is currently embarking on a significant change process to enhance the delivery of its services and to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the ACT. The Association is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager who can deploy their expertise in driving the implementation of change, and who can proactively assist in transforming AAACT's services and supports to meet the diverse needs of people with ASD.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Operations Manager's primary duties include:
* Supporting the Committee, CEO and staff in delivering the AAACT Strategic Plan priorities.
* General HR management including: workforce planning, staff supervision, annual performance review management and professional development.
* Managing contracts and preparing reports to government.
* Operational financial management.
* ICT management.
* Volunteer engagement, management and development.
* Internal risk management.
* Assist with the review and implementation of AAACT's policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes and experience:
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of the ACT's human services sector
(ASD awareness desirable).
* Sound commercial acumen and business administration and financial management skills.
* Proven operational management experience including experience in managing a team in the completion of work to a high quality and within agreed timeframes.
* Demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting providers of services funded by government, particularly specialist disability services.
* Strong understanding of the relationships between an organisation's quality management system and the operation and delivery of service
* Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills and the ability to develop sustainable relationships with team members and stakeholders.
* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
* Exposure to social media applications and using them to engage with members and the broader community.
* Proficiency in computer applications and the Internet.
* Hold a current ACT motor vehicle licence.
* Tertiary qualification in business administration/management or equivalent work experience.
